Audiologist
ABOUT HEARING
“Throughout my career as an audiologist I have
worked with all populations in all age ranges. I’ve found
that whether you are helping a grandparent hear a grandchild’s
voice, or helping a child hear voices to develop speech and language
skills, hearing truly is a gift that no one should be without.”
A LIFELONG EDUCATION
“I grew up in a family with hearing loss surrounding me.
My father and my brother have hearing loss. I learned at a very
young age to speak clearly, slowly and loudly to be heard. It
is those experiences that I take with me throughout the day to
help me communicate with my patients, so I am assured they hear
me properly.”

PEER EXCHANGES TO DEVELOP SKILLS
“It’s vitally important for me to keep up with the
dynamic world of hearing technology and electronics. Instrument
technology is rapidly changing and by staying in touch with colleagues
and continuing education, I remain current on the latest technologies
so I can share options with my patients.”

“I can’t think of a better vocation than one that
rewards you with the absolute joy in someone’s eyes when
they hear clearly for the first time. This is what drives me and
gratifies me.”
“I learn daily from – and with -- my patients. I love
what I do, and I am pleased to actively participate in continuing
education.”
“I have worked in several settings, including hospitals,
an ENT office, and a school for the developmentally delayed. Each
one provided a new learning experience, with patients ranging from
pediatric to seniors. They are all rewarding, but each one has
its own unique gratification.”
“My number one priority is patient care. I am dedicated
to helping my patients to hear and communicate effectively with
their loved ones. This is my vocation.”

Frieda Toback, M.A. CCC/A
Audiologist
“My role in helping people hear goes far beyond the walls
of my office. It goes into the homes of grandchildren who want
to communicate with my patients. It travels to forests and
beaches where my patients want to hear the sounds of nature once
again. And it even goes to stadiums where my patients want
to hear the roar of the crowd. As you can tell, I take my
role very seriously.”
EDUCATED TO HELP YOU HEAR
“My education was a very important part of my goal to become
an audiologist. Knowing what I wanted to do for a long time gave
me the advantage of focusing my studies on one field of interest. I
strive to bring that enthusiasm to my patients every day.”

SHARING TO TEACH AND TO LEARN
“My professional associations
allow me to exchange ideas with my colleagues. It’s
a “give and take” process, but I must admit to favoring
the “give” part. The
thought that something I contribute may help someone else’s
patient is very gratifying.”
Fellow: American Academy of Audiology
Member: American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
RESEARCH AND REPORTING TO IMPROVE HEARING
“During my career, I have strived to keep pace with changes in hearing
technology. In addition to authoring articles on hearing
subjects, I have maintained a steady schedule of continuing education
in order to pass this knowledge on to my patients.”

Mellitus,” MA Thesis, “The Use of Conditioning Procedures with a
Disruptive Nonverbal Child,” Journal of Speech and Hearing

David G. Carr, BC-HIS
Board-Certified Hearing Instrument Specialist
“As your hearing specialist, I will listen to you. Learn
from you. Involve you in the process. It’s the only way to
know which technology and programming are really right for you.
I’m committed to keeping abreast of the latest breakthroughs
in hearing care. But I never forget that a professional’s
personal qualifications-thoughtfulness, compassion, and dedication-make
the biggest difference in your world full of sound.”
EXPERTISE AND KNOWLEDGE YOU CAN DEPEND ON
“Hearing care is advancing faster than the speed of sound.
Breakthroughs like digital technology are ensuring people a richer
sound quality than ever before. That’s why I never stop learning.”

Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences, #05145
Certified: D.C. Electronics; Oticon, Starkey, Phonak, Resound,

LIFELONG PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS ARE THE KEY
“Sharing knowledge with my colleagues is one of the most
important benefits of belonging to professional organizations.
I can exchange ideas, learn about new technologies, and continually
seek better ways of helping my patients.”
Member: Hearing Health Care Alliance of New York, International
Hearing Society
DEDICATED TO HELPING YOU HEAR BETTER:
“People with hearing difficulties have a tendency to retreat
into isolation, enduring the sounds of silence instead of enjoying
the sounds of life. That’s why I will come to their homes
to screen their hearing and fit them for hearing aids. Some patients
won’t reach out for the help they need. But I make sure it
reaches out to them.”
Volunteer: Hearing Protection Awareness, local health fairs

Lisa H. Roselli, M.A.-CCC/A
Audiologist
“During my career, I have seen patients from all walks of
life. But I have noticed that they all have one thing in common.
They are all mindful of the precious gift of hearing they have
lost and are all so overjoyed when I can help restore it. Their
smiles and appreciation make a difference in my life.”
A LIFELONG EDUCATION
“One of the most important subjects I learned in school
was how to improve my skills through my ears. Simply put, that
means listening to my patients. I have found that often, they need
someone who understands what they are going through and who has
the time to listen. Perhaps the greatest reward of my career is
helping people to communicate.”

Qualification as Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped
Licensed: New York State, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing

PEER EXCHANGES TO DEVELOP SKILLS
“The world of hearing technology is a dynamic one. New products
and theories are always available for examination and discussion.
One of the ways I can help my patients is to stay in touch with
my colleagues through professional memberships. That way, I am
always informed of new and exciting developments.”
Member: American Speech and Hearing Association
DEVOTED TO HELPING OTHERS HEAR
“One of the most successful ways to help my patients hear
better is to let them know that finding a solution to their hearing
impairment is a team effort. I can’t force anyone to do anything.
But based on my years of experience, I can make informed recommendations
as to the best course of action. That way, we work together and
the results are priceless.”

A COMMITMENT TO BETTER HEARING
We are currently in a period of incredible leaps and advances
in hearing aid technology. We in the hearing assistance field
are duty bound to stay current with these advances so that we
may better serve our patients who have placed their trust in
us. I prided myself in doing so.
COMMITMENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND PATIENT CARE
Once entrusted with the responsibility to select proper amplification
for my patients, I pride myself on providing the best customer
service possible. It is not enough to select and fit the proper
hearing aid. It is my obligation and pleasure to provide whatever
counseling and support services are necessary for each person
to have a successful hearing experience.
COMMITMENT TO LISTENING
This is where it all begins. I listen to each person and recognize
each one as the unique individual he or she is. It is the best
way to determine precisely which instrument will best serve
each person’s needs.
I feel blessed to be able to say that my profession is my calling.
Not only do I love what I do, but I feel I’ve made a difference
in many peoples’ lives.
