David’s message to his patients
“I’m committed to keeping abreast of the latest breakthroughs in hearing care, but I never forget that a professional’s personal qualifications—thoughtfulness, compassion and dedication—make the biggest difference in your world full of sound.
“As your hearing specialist, I will listen to you, learn from you and involve you in the process. It’s the only way to know which technology and programming are really right for you.
“Sharing knowledge with my colleagues is one of the most important benefits of belonging to professional organizations. I can exchange ideas, learn about new technologies and continually seek better ways of helping my patients.”

Mary’s message to her patients
“I can’t think of a better vocation than one that rewards you with the absolute joy in someone’s eyes when they hear clearly for the first time. This is what drives me and gratifies me.
“I learn daily from—and with—my patients. I love what I do, and I am pleased to actively participate in continuing education.
“I have worked in several settings including hospitals, an ENT office and a school for the developmentally delayed. Each one provided a new learning experience, with patients ranging from pediatric to seniors. They are all rewarding, but each one has its own unique gratification.
“My number one priority is patient care. I am dedicated to helping my patients to hear and communicate effectively with their loved ones. This is not only my vocation, but my passion.”

Dawn’s message to her patients
“Every patient comes to my office with a different communicative need: the teacher who wants to hear the student in the back row; the grandma who yearns to hear the soft coos of her newborn grandchild; the businessman who is missing too much at staff meetings. Being a good listener enables me to understand my patients’ most pressing communication needs and concerns. Together, we work as a team to achieve our goals toward improved hearing.
“Current hearing aid technology is advancing in ways that astound and it makes previously unattainable goals a reality. My patients’ triumphs become my triumphs as we get back on the road to better hearing. The smiles that abound once our goals are met are my greatest reward and continue to make me feel fulfilled and proud to be an audiologist.”

“I have spent my life surrounded by music. My social and personal experiences through music have shaped me from a very young age; it is difficult to imagine going through each day without being able to hear the sounds that were most important to me.
It is my goal as a hearing healthcare professional to listen to each individuals specific hearing needs and help them to achieve their own hearing goals. I understand that every person has different sounds that bring joy to their lives and it is a privilege to be able to restore this happiness through hearing technology. I am dedicated to each individual journey to better hearing health.”

In the field of audiology we have the chance to truly listen to our patients and provide them with the support and technology they need to excel and enjoy the sounds of life. I have the opportunity to truly make a difference in the life of another individual every single day. Audiology has become my passion for this very reason. It is truly a blessing to be able to provide support and assistance to the hearing impaired population so that they can fully engage in the joys of life. There is no greater feeling then an individual returning to the office after being fit with hearing instruments and listening to them describe all of the new sounds they have heard. From the sounds of birds to the voices of their grandchildren, each individual with their own unique story and experience, it is truly a privilege to be a part of their hearing journey.

Bio:
I am grateful to work in the field of Audiology at a time when technology is rapidly advancing and consequently there are so many hearing device options available to my patients. Beyond staying up to date on current technology, I have compassion and the ability to listen closely to each individual’s needs. Every patient has a unique story on why they are visiting a hearing care provider and it is my responsibility to diagnose, counsel, and develop an appropriate treatment plan. I believe that with a strong understanding of a patient’s lifestyle and needs I can guarantee that each patient receives the most benefit possible from amplification. I am further committed to supporting patients by ensuring that I answer all their questions and that I am always reachable and here for any support.
It is extremely rewarding to see the expression on a patient’s face when they hear sounds for the first time. Whether it is an adult who has not heard the sound of birds chirping for years or a one year old who is hearing for the first time, it is incredible to see how they scan and absorb the environment around them in a new way. I love being a part of the process and having the ability to then follow up with these patients. In my opinion, continued follow up is the most effective way to quality patient care. As a provider I can offer the most support by establishing good rapport with patients and continuing to learn about their hearing health journey and understand ways that their quality of life has improved!

“Early on in my education, I was confident that working with a variety of ages and populations was and still is my life-long ambition. I consider my ability to relate and communicate effectively with patients and their families one of my most significant assets. I enjoy learning and will continue to be educated on testing, technology, and audiology advancements.
A goal of mine throughout my career is to make a positive impact in my patient’s lives. I want them to feel comfortable and participate within their day to day activities. I believe that the small steps we take together are leaps in hearing, communication, personality, and success. ”

There are many reasons why I have decided to pursue a career in Audiology. One of the most important reasons for me is that this field gives back to people. Whether it is a child hearing his/her parent speak for the first time, or an adult who can finally understand what their grandchild is saying to them, I can honestly say that Audiology is the most rewarding field. If I can make someone’s life just a little bit easier, I know that I have succeeded.
Audiology is truly a field that is growing and conforming to the hearing-impaired population’s needs. I am honored to be a part of this process and see the transformation that each patient encounters as they uncover all the possibilities that hearing technology has for them.

There is nothing more important than making positive connections with my patients. Everyone who comes through the door has unique and individual hearing care needs. I want each of my patients to feel understood and help them on the road to accepting and advocating for themselves and their hearing loss. There is nothing more powerful than seeing a patient realize the benefits they can get from hearing aids and understand what they were truly missing because of their hearing loss.
